.PO11 Minutes of the regular weekly Executive Committee meeting of Radio Rensselaer held 28 November 1984 Present were: myself, Tom White (MALcontent), Doug Lyon (Cheese), Rob Galgano (Station Mangler) (after a while and after a fashion), Brian Borchers, Chris Lamorticel la, Stu Lachs (Business Mangler newly elected), Terri Schmidt, Steve Staton, Jenny Young, Mark Lo (much same style as Rob the THROB), Aaron Heller, John Lattyak, Brad Armstrong, and Bernie, who was on time for the first time ever while I've been running meetings. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM, exactly on timefor the second time in a row, a mindbogglingly amazing achieve ment on my part. Officer Reports: Public Relations: none (not present -- forgot to tell people he had more important things to do) Tech Dept.: I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, thanks. - There will be a studio C meeting starring Chris Lamorticella "some time in January" -- very soon after intersession Business Dept. (a.k.a. Stu): 2 things: 1) use the phone book for local numbers -- it costs us money if you don't. 2) "As this is my first & last E-Comm meeting, I want it noted that I have enjoyed being an E-Comm member." Member at Large: We have 23 members (13 = quorum) Programming: yeah We have programming. We had vacation. I had turkey. I made a list, checked it twice, and it's even gone through a revision. Station Manager: has a headache. President: I explained the recent absence of minutes, which is due to general slugness on my part but mostly to my knack for losing my notes. We will have a meeting on Sunday at One (1) PM. Not two or noon, but one. (Actually 1:03 to be exact.) 7 minutes and 48 seconds late, Bernie arrived. By his standards, that's early. .CP10 Old Business: "The Snooper memo." There have been official threats against the existence of Snooper in the station, and par ticularly outside of the station but inside the C.C. We expressed unanimous disappointment at Snooper's recent non- presence that has resulted, and agreed that we would not do anything official until Doug had done some more checking on possibilities. The Constitution and format policy are on the PR1ME computer system and will shortly be moved over to join other station stuff on MTS. There will be an advisory board meeting on the day after elections, i.e. December 3 from 4 to 5 PM somewhere on the top floor of the Union. All who are now or will be then officers of the club should be at the meeting. On the other hand, if they can't make it, it'll still be cool. New Business: Thanks to Don Drewecki, many of the productions of Peace Radio (not their studio shows but many lectures and so forth that are recorded by WRPI people) will be nation ally distributed by Pacifica on the satellite distribution that we're going to have to pay $2K/year for. We may recover some of the soundproofed walls in the station. We will discuss it again after the techies get more information. .CP10 The meeting was closed at 7:27 so that interviews for the various E-Comm posts could be held. The following people were endorsed for the following posts: President: Steve Staton Station Manager: Chris Lamorticella Steve Staton Program Director: Mark Lo Public Relations Director: Terri Schmidt Chief Engineer: Doug Lyon Member At Large: Tom ("Fozzie") White The meeting was adjourned at 8:50, not an astonishing feat of brevity, but quick enough for me to get home in time to watch "The Prisoner." Be well, for the last time and forever.
